Vienna Little League fields All-Star teams annually to play against other local (District-4) little league All-Start teams starting in June, after the spring season has ended. The tournaments start at the local district level and teams who win advance to the VA State Tournament.
For the 8-10 and 9-11 teams, the tournaments culminate at the Tournament of State Champions (TOSC) in NC, while the Majors age group (12s) team can advance to the Southeast Regional Tournament in Warner Robbins, GA where the tournament winner advances to the Little League World Series Tournament in Williamsport, PA.
All-Stars Tournament Eligibility
Players must be eligible players within the VLL boundary, based on their physical address or school attended. Player must have played in minimum of 2/3 of their team’s regular season games (injured player or extenuating circumstances will be considered by the VLL Board on a case-by-case basis).
All-Stars Selection Process
Vienna fields All-Stars teams for both the AL and NL at the 8-10, 9-11, and Majors levels, and a single unified team at the Intermediate Level. For the 8-10 and 9-11 age groups, players are nominated by their Majors or 3A managers and must attend tryouts. The Majors (12yo) team is selected based on Manager recommendations and votes by players in Majors. The Intermediate team is selected from the available players at that level.
All-Stars Commitment
Being selected to play on the tournament team is a significant time commitment for players and their families. All-stars rosters are announced on or around June 1st and daily practices begin right away. The tournament season starts in mid-June and ends as late as August if teams advance to regionals or beyond. There are daily practices and full participation is required. Players must be able to attend all practices and games, otherwise players will not be considered for selection. Parents on teams that advance to tournaments beyond District-4 may also have additional costs incurred for travel and hotel expenses.
