Player Registration
2025 Fall Ball
VLL's Fall Ball program is a development-focused season that is designed to promote player growth. Some players may use Fall Ball to try playing baseball for the first time. Others may repeat their spring level or play at the level they aspire to for the following spring. VLL does not conduct player evaluations for Fall Ball.
The following levels of play typically will be offered in the Fall:
● Majors -- one practice and two games per week
● Minors 3A (advanced player-pitch) -- one practice, one weekday game, and one Saturday game per week
● Minors 2A (introductory player-pitch) -- one practice, one weekday game, and one Saturday game per week
● Minors 1A (coach-pitch) -- one practice and one Saturday game per week
● Juniors (tee ball) -- Sunday practice & game
● Intermediate (50/70) -- one practice, one weekday game, and one Saturday game per week
What level is appropriate for your player? (Please note that placement will be determined by VLL based on playing experience, and registering for a division does not guarantee placement at that level, or drafting at that level in Spring 2026.)
If your player was league age 12 in Spring 2025, then register for Intermediate (50/70).
If your player was league age 10-11 in Spring 2025 and played Spring Majors, then register for Fall Majors; if your player did not play VLL in Spring 2025 or played Minors, then you may register for Fall Majors or 3A (depending upon experience/skill).
If your player was league age 9 in Spring 2025, then you may register for Fall Majors or 3A (or, if new to the sport, fall 2A).
If your player was league age 8 in Spring 2025, then register for Fall 3A or 2A (depending upon experience/skill).
If your player was league age 7 in Spring 2025 and you believe he/she is ready for kid-pitch, then register for Fall 2A; if coach-pitch is more appropriate, then register for Fall 1A.
If your player was league age 6 in Spring 2025, then register for Fall 1A.
If your player was league age 4 or 5 in Spring 2025, then register for Fall Juniors.
VLL has greater discretion in the conduct of Fall Ball and, as a result, the team formation process will be less formal than in the Spring. For example, AL/NL division affiliations need not be strictly observed and there are no tryouts. In general, teams will be formed by the Fall Ball Director as follows:
● Intermediate (50/70) is played on a larger field than little league. The 50/70 diamond has 70-foot base paths and the pitching distance is 50 feet. Teams will consist of players who were league age 12 in the spring of 2025. If there is sufficient enrollment to support more than one team, the teams will be formed in a manner designed to promote maximum developmental opportunities for all players (e.g., ensuring each team has sufficient pitchers and catchers).
● Majors is the highest level in Little League. Teams will be formed by pairing teams of returning spring Majors players, then placing any manager, coach, and/or sibling options. Other players who were at least league age 9 in the spring of 2025 and played 3A, (or have equivalent experience) may request placement in Fall Majors.
● 3A & 2A teams will be formed via logical pairings of returning players from spring teams and players from a team that competed at the next-lowest level in the Spring. A typical team will match 6-8 players returning at level, 3-4 players rising a level, plus "free agents" who were not affiliated with a Spring team. Teams will have rosters of approximately 12 players.
● 1A and Juniors teams will be formed based on parent and manager preferences, with additional players placed based upon common neighborhoods and schools. Teams will have rosters of approximately 10 players.
