Majors Game 7 Recaps




Phillies over Orioles 9-0

Max S. was dealing on Tuesday night!  The ace for the Phillies went 5 complete, allowing no hits and striking out 7. The Phillies defense was excellent behind Max, with no errors and several sparkling plays from Karim A. Carter T. led the Phillies offense again, just missing his first homer of the season, banging a ball of the base of the fence at Curry. Kyle O. had 3 hits on the night, including 2 doubles. Charlie C. collected two extra base hits, while Ben B. and Jackson S. picked up hits. For the Orioles, Kevin C. was excellent on the mound, going 2 innings, striking out 2 and not allowing an earned run.

Twins over Nationals 4-2

In a closely contested game where pitching dominated throughout the night, a big bottom of the 5th sealed the victory for the Twins.  The big hit of the night came from Caleb G. With the score tied at 2 with 2 outs and 2 strikes, Caleb lined a ball to center field, driving in the go-ahead and insurance runs! Nate Harlow went 2-2 for the Twins and pitched 2 scoreless innings to close out the game. Carson V. and IJ M. combined with Nate to only allow 2 hits on the night and struck out 13. The Nats' Declan H. pitched 4 great innings allowing only a single and an earned run, while striking out 4. Declan had 2 hits on the night as well.

Dodgers over Colts 11-10

In a wild back and forth game that saw plenty of offense, the Dodgers outlasted the Twins by plating 4 in the top of the 5th. After taking the lead, the Dodgers relied on Liam S. to shut the door. He didn't disappoint and went 2.2 innings of no-hit ball, while striking out 4 to preserve the victory. Wes D. had a big night for the Dodgers, going 3-3 with a double and 2 RBI. Sam H., Connor N., Miles N. and Flynn S all had multiple hits on the night.  Liam F. ripped a double and scored a run for the Dodgers. The Colts offense was led by Tyler D., who went 2-4 and scored 2 runs. Ryne E., Chris M., and Jamie G. had big hits for the Colts as well.

Reds over Pirates 9-0

Luke P. was excellent on the mound for the Reds, going 5.1 innings, scattering 2 hits and striking out 10. Luke helped his own cause by going 3-4 with a RBI. Zach S. had a triple on the night and the Reds received knocks from Austin B. and Thomas J. Jonah M. led the offense for the Pirates, going 2-2. Eli N. threw 2 innings for the Pirates and didn't surrender a single earned run. 

White Sox over Cardinals 2-0

Ryne A. was, again, outstanding on the bump for the Sox, throwing a complete game shutout, allowing only 1 hit and striking out 15! In a game where offense was at a premium, Ryne, Jonah K. and Henry R. led the charge for the Sox going a combined 6-8. Sean Y. and Wyatt K. were great on the mound for the Cardinals, scattering 6 hits and only allowing 2 runs on the night. Vincent M. collected a hit for the Cards.

Red Sox over Braves 12-2

After a shellacking from the Braves last week, the Sox were looking for revenge Wednesday. Behind masterful performances on the mound from Case M. and Eli S., the Red Sox provided plenty of offense collecting 12 hits, including a 3-4 night from Matthew R. Case and Eli combined to only allow 5 hits and 2 earned. The Sox got multiple hits from Brayden P., Cody H. and Adrian O., and Luke L., Case and Ryan K. had hits. The Braves were led by Jack and Brady K, who combined to have 4 hits on the night. Reece A. stayed hot with a base hit. Sean H and Grant R. had strong pitching performance, going a combined 2.2 innings, allowing no earned runs. 

Blue Jays over Giants 13-5

The Blue Jays offense was on fire Wednesday, scoring 13 runs and collecting 14 hits. Graham M. was the hit leader for the Jays, going 3-4 with a double and driving in 4. Tyler D., Bradley S., Andrew R. and Adam R. all had multiple hits, while Caroline B., Caden P. and Alman K. provided hits as well. Adam M. had a good night for the Giants, going 2-3, including a double and 2 RBI. Tripp M. had 2 hits while Carson P., Colson P. and Sam C. had hits for the Giants.

Cubs over Yankees 14-2

Pax L. smashed his second homer of the season on the first pitch of the game, and the Cubs never looked back, collecting 14 hits. Along with Pax, the Cubs offense was led by Ashlon G., who went 3-4 with 5 RBI. Bryce B., Jack L., Holden S., and Jae W. all had multiple hit performances for the Cubs Wednesday. Bryce and Jack pitched combined to only allow 2 hits in the victory. Aaron K. had a double on the night for the Giants and Graham W. pitched a solid inning, allowing nor runs and striking out 3.
