AL 11's All Stars 2-0 in Pool Play in Tournament of State Champions
On the second day of pool play in the Tournament of State Champions in Wilson, NC, the AL 11 All-Stars beat Greenville Tar Heel LL by a score of 11-1. The Big Red Machine is now 2-0 in pool play and is the only one of eight teams in the tournament to remain undefeated.
Sunday's win assures the team of advancement to the single elimination round. The 11-1 victory saw several players with multiple hits. Case M, Ryne A, Brady K and Charlie J each had 2 hits on the day. Case and Sean Y each doubled during the game. Just as the win in game one, today the offense was supported with a great outing by the pitching staff. Pax L, Case, Adam K and Sean combined to give up 1 run on 6 hits and striking out 6.
They will return to the diamond this afternoon at 12:45pm to take on Durham South LL, the state runner-ups from North Carolina.
In 2 games, the AL All Stars have given up 2 runs and scored 27.
