Championship Game Previews

Both league championships feature the #1 seeds versus the #3 seeds.

In the NL, the Reds (12-7) host the Twins (10-9) at 6:30pm on Crabtree Field. The Twins won the lone regular season matchup on May 11th by a score of 8-4.  After the first inning that game was all square at 2-2. Rion O. knocked in 2 runs for the Twins in the top of the second and IJ M. did the same for the Twins in the top of the 3rd. The Reds mounted a comeback in the bottom of the 4th with RBI hits by Carter C. and Cam G. The Twins held on to win 8-4 as Owen O. earned the save with a clean last inning on the mound. The anticipated starting pitchers for tonight's championship game are Owen O. for the Twins and Carter C. for the Reds.

In the AL, the White Sox (16-3) host the Red Sox (12-6-1) at 6:30pm on Rhodes Field. If the regular season game between them is any indication for tonight's game it will be a great matchup. In the game played on May 11th, the White Sox edged out the Red Sox by a score of 4-2. For the first 3 innings it was a pitchers' duel between Josh T. and James B. as the game was knotted at zero. After Josh T. held the White Sox to no runs in the top of the 4th, the Red Sox put 2 runs across the plate in the bottom of the 4th stanza with an RBI double by Case M. and an RBI bunt by Macallan B. The White Sox were quick to respond with a run in the top of the 5th as Jake T. scored on a passed ball. In the top of the 6th, the White Sox put the final 3 runs on the board with singles by James B. and Case M., followed by an inside-the-park home run by Atticus B. James B. returned to the mound in the bottom of the 6th to complete the 4-2 victory on 73 pitches, striking out 12, giving up 3 hits and no walks. The matchup tonight will feature pitchers not named James B. and Josh T. as both were impressive in their team's first round playoff victories.
