There Is No 'I' in Team ... But There Is One In Register. Deadline to Sign Up Is this Week!

Don't forget: player registration for VLL's spring season closes at midnight on Wednesday (January 31) for ages 10+ and for any 8-9-year-olds seeking placement at player-pitch/draft levels. Sign your player(s) up ASAP to ensure a spot on one of the teams forming in February and March. See our Program Info/FAQ page for more details and guidance on our various levels of play. Financial aid for players is available upon request. (And please consider volunteering as a Minors or Tee Ball coach to help us meet our robust demand.)

Reserve Your Player's Tryout Slot for 2A, 3A or Majors

Slots are filling up for our spring 2024 2A/3A/Majors player evaluations. Anyone seeking placement at these competitive levels (other than returning Majors players) must attend one of the following tryout events to enable our coaches to draft them to the appropriate level. If you have a conflict with the day assigned to your player's age group, there are make-up slots available on the alternate weekend. (Age refers to the player's age as of 8/31/2024.)

Ages 10-12: Sunday, February 4, 1:30 pm -7:30 pm (sign up HERE)
Ages 8-9: Sunday, February 11, 10:00 am-4:00 pm (sign up HERE)

Location: HammerZone Sports (Fairfax Circle Shopping Center, 9709 Fairfax Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22030)

Volunteers Needed: We need adult and youth volunteers to help run tryouts. You can sign up for volunteer time slots on either February 4 or February 11. Please take note of the type of signup required, youth or adult (adult slots cannot be filled by youth volunteers). All youth signups should be filled by returning Majors players or older (VLL alumni, Babe Ruth, high school players). Youth volunteers can record their time as service hours.

Celebrating 35 Years of the Vienna Challenger League

In 1989, VLL became the first Little League in Virginia to offer the Challenger program for children with special needs, and for the past 35 years it has allowed youngsters from our community to play adaptive baseball in a nurturing and fun environment (at no cost to families). With the help of coaches and player "Buddies" from our Majors program and the Flint Hill School baseball program, and through the support of generous benefactors like the Tom Nixon Youth Fund, our Challenger League will return again this season starting on Opening Day, April 13, immediately following the season-opening ceremonies at Nance Field. The remaining season schedule consists of Sunday afternoon games and one Friday evening game under the lights at Yeonas Park. If you are interested in having a child play in the Challenger program, or if you would like to volunteer, please contact Challenger program director Jason Adams at [email protected].

In Memoriam: On January 9, former VLL coach and board member Steve Jones passed away at the age of 56 following a lengthy battle with cancer. Steve is remembered as a longtime champion of VLL and made his most enduring contributions to the league through his passionate stewardship of the Challenger program from 2011-2018. Please read more about Steve's legacy here.

Attend Spring (Break) Training at HammerZone

VLL sponsor HammerZone will host its Spring Break Camp for youth baseball players ages 8-14 from March 25-29. Campers will have the opportunity to enhance their overall baseball skills through daily indoor training -- with a focus on hitting, fielding, and throwing -- and will compete in skills competitions. Sessions run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuition is $325 per player for the week. Registration is open now

Join Our Sponsorship Team for 2024

For 70+ years, VLL's corporate sponsors have generously provided financial support that is essential to our league's success. Fees paid by player families cover only a fraction of our total annual costs, and much of the rest comes from sponsorships. Every dollar donated by sponsors helps VLL improve and maintain our outstanding fields, purchase new equipment and uniforms, and provide financial aid to players. If you are a small-business owner or are associated with a local business, please consider joining our Sponsor Community this season! Sponsor your player's team. Purchase a field banner. Reach hundreds of local families.
