75th Season Opening Day Program E-Book

Thanks to the entire VLL community for making the 75th Season Opening Day on April 11th the best one yet! Didn’t get a chane to grab a copy of the Opening Day program book? No problem, download the e-book here.

Mid-Season Experience Survey

It’s hard to believe we’re mid-way through the spring season and we want to hear from you about your VLL Spring Season experience so far.

Take a minute to complete the VLL Experience and Coaching Feedback Surveys at the VLL website. We look forward to hearing your feedback!

Friday Night Lights on May 1st

Another exciting line up of Majors games is coming up at Friday Night Lights on May 1st. This Friday is 1A night and any 1A player wearing their jersey will get a free snow cone! We’ve had a fantastic turnout so far this season and hope to see everyone there again. The concession stand will be stocked and ready for action!

Volunteer Opportunities

Speaking of the concession stand, we have an opening for our Concessions Director position - part of the VLL Board of Directors - come fall 2026. This role is core to our league’s community and we would love to find some dedicated volunteers to step up! The role can be split among a few people. Email [email protected] or reply to this post for more information and an opportunity to shadow across the spring!

There are a number of additional volunteer opportunities available. VLL has events coming up that cannot succeed without volunteer support. Friday Night Lights, Home Run Derby, All-Stars games - there is a need for even just 1 hour a week. Please sign up by clicking here.

Looking for a Commercial Builder

As we work on our snack bar renovation plans, we are looking for members of our VLL community who are commercial builders. If you may want to learn more or can help, please contact Christine Lancman at [email protected].

All-Stars Information

As we head into the second half of the season, it’s time to start thinking about All-Stars. Vienna Little League fields All-Star teams annually to play against other local (District-4) little league All-Start teams starting in June, after the spring season has ended. For more information about Eligibility, Selection and Required Commitment, read the All-Stars Information page.

MVP Terps Baseball Tryouts on May 3rd

For 12 year olds considering travel baseball for next year, MVP Terps will be holding tryouts on May 3rd from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Herndon High School. See tryout information here. For any questions, email Mike Binns at [email protected].

Intermediate Division Information

For 12 year olds that want another year of VLL next year, Intermediate (50/70) division is a great option designed for players League Age 13 to bridge the transition to the 60/90 "big field." This division fields two teams that play games against Intermediate division teams from neighboring towns.

Games are played on fields with dimensions that are bigger than Little League but smaller than a regular 90-foot baseball diamond; the Little League pitching distance is increased by 4 feet, to 50 feet, and the length of the basepaths is increased by 10 feet, to 70 feet. Advanced concepts of leads, pickoffs, and balks are introduced at this level.

Intermediate teams typically practice 1-2 times per week and compete in weekly games against other Little Leagues in Northern Virginia. Home games are Friday evenings at Nottoway Park. Look for Fall Ball registration opening soon and for additional information, reach out to Intermediate Division Director Matthias Ziegler at [email protected].
