T-BALL OFF-SEASON PROGRAM (AGES 4–6)
Purpose: Introduce basic movement skills, confidence with the ball, and fun. There should be minimal throwing volume and instead, the focus should be on coordination, balance, and general athleticism.
Weekly Schedule (Recommended 1–2 sessions per week)
Session Length: 20–30 minutes
Warm-Up (Every Session)
1. Marching in place – 30 sec
2. Arm circles – 10 forward / 10 back
3. Side-to-side shuffles – 20 sec
4. “Dynamic reach” (touch toes, reach high) – 10 reps
Skill Work (Alternate each session)
Throwing Skills
1. Grip introduction (2-finger grip on the seams)
2. “Step and toss” drill (parent 8–12 ft away)
3. Bucket toss: aim into laundry basket
4. Underhand partner toss to build coordination
Batting Skills
1. Hitting off a tee with soft foam or RIF ball
2. “Feet together swings” to teach rotation
3. “Point to pitcher” follow-through cue
Fielding Skills
1. Rolling ground balls
2. Two-hand “alligator catch”
3. “Ready position” mini-races (fun!)
General Athletic Development
** Very important at this age! **
1. Mini-obstacle course
2. Jumping/hopping patterns
3. Throwing at large targets
Playing any other sport
