If your player wants to play for a VLL Majors, AAA, or AA team this Spring, an evaluation is mandatory.
If your player is league age 11 or 12 and was on a Majors team last Spring (2019), they do not need to attend another evaluation, as they will be returning to their same Majors team this Spring, after completing a paid registration by February 1, 2020.
8yo players who do not want to be eligible for the AA draft also do not need to attend an evaluation and will be assigned a lower level team after the drafts conclude. Note that most 8yo players in VLL play single A.
All other players ages 8-12 must have a paid Spring 2020 registration completed on the VLL website 48 hours in advance of attending an evaluation, to be considered for a draft league this Spring. (AA, AAA, Majors)
Players only attend one evaluation date (not both). The tryout day and time options are listed by age (not by baseball division / level). Given the number of players that need to attend an evaluation, please attend at your designated day/time, and do not show up early or late!
To participate in one of VLL's mandatory evaluation, please complete the online registration process 48 hours in advance of your son or daughter's scheduled evaluation.

Evaluation location: Perfect Performance / Tysons Playground
8502 Tyco Rd. Suite B, Tysons Virginia, 22182
The facility is behind the Tesla dealership on the right side, towards the back of the building.
Parking is not allowed in front of any open retail establishment and towing is enforced. Please use the large lot behind the building if necessary.
Know your role as a parent! For safety reasons, the building owners have requested that parents DO NOT enter the building. Please bring your player to the front door, where VLL adult volunteers will take your cell phone number so we can call/text you when your player is finished with their individual tryout. We will lead all players through check in and the individual tryout stations of fielding, batting, and pitching. When they are finished - which will be approximately 40 minutes later, depending on how many players show up at any given time - we will have a volunteer with with them at the door unti you arrive. No player will be allowed back into the parking lot without a parent. We apologize for any inconvenience, but safety is paramount.
Make sure your player is properly equipped. All players must be dressed for baseball with a glove, helmet, and athletic shoes. Please do not bring a bag, bat, water, or cleats - as they are not allowed in the facility.
2020 spring team assignments will be announced after the tryout, draft selection, and team assignment process is completed. This process ensures that players are evaluated for safely playing at the right level, and all teams are fairly balanced to maintain appropriate competition. The resulting team rosters will be announced approximately as follows:
Majors: Thursday February 20 for ages 10-12
AAA: Tuesday February 25 for ages 9-12
AA: Saturday February 29 for ages 8-11
A: Mid-March for ages 7-9
