Help Wanted: Majors Team Managers

VLL is now accepting applications to fill manager vacancies in our Majors baseball program. Organized, skilled and compassionate coaches are the cornerstone of VLL. We seek qualified candidates who will make a multi-season commitment to help develop our top 10-12-year-old players into better athletes while modeling the highest standards for sportsmanship and citizenship. If you are interested in applying for an open Majors manager position, please submit the required application materials no later than November 20. Selected candidates will interview with a selection committee in late November or early December, and final appointments will be made in December or January.
MORE THAN MAJORS: Managers are also needed for our Minor League. If you would like to be considered as a head coach for a 3A, 2A, 1A, Rookie, or Tee Ball team next spring, please complete this initial interest form, and we will invite you to any off-season coaching-development activities.
Fall Classic Tournament Set for Week of October 23-28
Every year our Fall Ball season for Majors, 3A, and 2A culminates with a week-long tournament known as the Fall Classic. All teams qualify for a single-elimination tournament at their respective levels of play. Weather permitting, games begin on Monday, October 23, and continue throughout the week. The Majors Fall Classic Championship will be held Friday evening, October 27, at 6 PM at Yeonas Park, and the 3A and 2A Championships will be held at Yeonas Park at 3 PM on Saturday, October 28. Come out and watch VLL's own version of the October classic.
Introducing HammerZone Youth Pitching Academy
 HammerZone Sports Youth Pitching Academy teaches youth players the skills necessary to become elite pitchers at every level of play. Our Driveline Certified Instructors have either played or coached at the collegiate or professional level and are equipped to help you take your game to the next level.
Players will have access to a variety of training drills and devices and will receive detailed analysis of their progress.

Please use our online form to provide us with constructive feedback (positive or negative) about your experiences with our volunteer coaches. All submissions are anonymous. Feedback on other issues -- scheduling, safety, field conditions, umpires, or spectator behavior -- can also be provided confidentially to members of our Board of Directors.
5th-8th Graders Invited to Flint Hill School Baseball Clinic
Flint Hill School Varsity Head Baseball Coach Mitch Mendler will host a free baseball clinic for players in 5th-8th grade on Saturday, October 28, from 9 AM to noon, at the upper school (3320 Jermantown Road, Oakton, VA, 22124). The clinic will include small-group work on fielding, hitting, baserunning, and gameplay led by current Flint Hill baseball coaches and players. Register here.
